Jessica Ellen Cornish is an English musician and singer who goes under the moniker Jessie J. The unique music style that Jessie performs which blends soul along with electropop, pop, and hip-hop has brought her fame from a very young age. Her awards include the 2011 Critics' Choice Brit Award and BBC's Sound of 2011 as well as several nominations. Her career began when she was just 11, when she was cast for the musical 'Whistle Down the Wind' by English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. In the following years, she was part of the 'National Youth Music Theater which was also in their production of The Late Sleepers that premiered in 2002. 2011 was the year she gained a lot of attention when she released her first studio album 'Who You Are'. It was an enormous hit, with 105,000 copies sold in the UK, and three thousand copies across the US in the first week of its debut. It was ranked no. 2 in the UK Albums Chart and number 11 on US Billboard 200. Jessie has also earned a reputation for her charity work. She participates in charitable organizations such as 'Children in Need,' and "Comic Relief."
